America's passive-aggressive relationship with Asia The ugly American in Asia?©2011
As West Asia reels from spreading protests against standing governments it has been interesting to watch the reactions from Washington. Yemen, Jordan, and Bahrain, among others, have leaders anxiously dealing with outbursts of demonstrations demanding change. Some are certainly authoritarian and lacking in basic human and civil rights so that the public attitudes are quite understandable. What seems mystifying... #WestAsia #Authoritarianism #QuietRevolution #US #Jordan #Bahrain #China #Yemen #MiddleEast #Egypt #Democratization Zobacz wpis

China's diplomatic incompetence strengthens Japan/India alliance Beijing does not always know which way to turn.Text: ©2010
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Hanoi started off well for China. Will Japan bring down the government of China? How could Tokyo become so powerful?©2010
China has been taking some big risks lately. It may have gone too far, leaving Japan in a position to decide its fate. Not exactly the situation Beijing had in mind.
After a run in with Chinese fishermen near the Senkaku Islands (Diaoyu Islands in China) Japan has had nothing but grief from Beijing. The Communist Party of China will “die a natural death” if the public does have basic human rights. One would expect something like this was written by Nobel Prize winning dissident Liu Xiaobo. However, this was written by twenty-three senior retired party members. #Reform #CommunistPartyOfChina #Democracy #LiuXiaobo #Censorship #QuietRevolution #中国无声的革命 #China #PeoplesLiberationArmy #PLA #PlenarySession #WenJiabao #Democratization Zobacz wpis
